The Council of Fashion Designers of America, or CFDA, is a not-for-profit organization, founded in 1962, that fundraises for charity, as well as plans the Fashion Calendar, runs New York Fashion Week: Mens and the CFDA Awards. The Council consists of 500 designers within different industry areas such as womenswear, menswear, jewelry and accessories that work together to impact positive change. Led by fashion powerhouse, Diane Von Furstenberg, and in good company with a committee involving designers such as Georgina Chapman, Tommy Hilfiger, and Tory Burch, the CFDA truly is an embodiment of all the positivity within the industry.
On June 5th, the CFDA hosted their 36th annual awards that recognized outstanding contributions to aspects of the industry including journalism, makeup, and personal style. Receiving an award is the highest honor in fashion, however having the ability to flaunt a look on the red carpet in front of the Fashion Greats, is an honor in itself.
Below, Beth and I have chosen our red carpet favorites for each age group.
