From the runway to retailers, leather and vinyl are huge trends for fall. Whether you participate by purchasing a pair of booties, a moto jacket, a skirt, (or in my case, pleather everything), channeling the 90’s and the Spice Girls, could spice up your fall wardrobe. The somewhat noisy material, brings an element of care-free fun to any outfit, and works for women of all ages.
Although I wouldn’t recommend a pleather skirt for Beth, like the one I’m wearing below, there’s a way for women in their 40’s and 50’s to incorporate this trend into their wardrobe as well. Stay tuned for a post next week on how Beth joined the pleather madness, and was able to incorporate it seamlessly into her preppy- classic outfits.
The greatest part of this look is that my outfit below cost less than $100! My suede OTK boots are were purchased at Marshalls, along with my Ann Klein plaid blazer. After searching desperately for a pleather skirt, I found the perfect one at Forever 21 for $18, and paired it with a simple white tee from Banana Republic to keep my outfit from looking too “Pretty Woman.” My overall appearance is a bit Good Girl/ Bad Girl, which perfectly epitomizes my style. Check out how I styled pleather below, and shop the items!
