We finally made it. Winter is over.
I packed up my fur- lined Sorels and heavy parka, and said good riddance to my wardrobe of greys and blacks. My tiny apartment is thankful for the change in weather, and the switch from bulky sweaters and scarves, to airy sundresses and teeny shorts. Although we’re not quite there yet (as my pasty white legs sigh in relief), it truly feels like spring is in the air.
Just as summer comes to an end, and the changing weather provokes thoughts of back-to- school argyle, corduroy, new denim and reinventing your wardrobe, we experience a similar transition at the end of February. “Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.” Miranda Priestly got it right in The Devil Wears Prada– poking fun at the trend that emerges every year at this time, without fail. Despite my being a lover of the Devil Wears Prada, as well as a lover of the ever-changing fashion industry, I am still not immune to the appeal of florals after so many months of doom and gloom.
Today’s OOTD is inspired by Miss Miranda Priestly and the gorgeous 70 degree weather we’re experiencing in New York. I’m wearing a Dalia faux-choker floral dress with blouson sleeves, my Gucci- inspired lace up suede shoes, carrying a French Connection cross-body, and topped it of with a Banana Republic felt hat.
